The short version

This site sets no cookies unless you accept them. A cookie
banner lets you accept or refuse Google Analytics, the
audience measurement tool. If you refuse, or ignore the banner, no analytics
cookie is set and nothing is measured. The site runs
no advertising and embeds no video.

Two third parties may see something: one always (Google Fonts), and one only
with your consent (Google Analytics). Both are described below.

Who is responsible

Morgan Heldt, whose details are in the
legal notice. For any question about this page:
morgan@heldt-biochar.fr.

What the site itself collects

Nothing by itself. There is no form, no account, no newsletter and no
advertising script. Without your consent to analytics, your visit leaves no
record on my side beyond whatever connection logs the host keeps
automatically (see below).

Third parties that see something

Google Fonts

The typefaces are served by Google (fonts.googleapis.com and
fonts.gstatic.com). Loading them means your browser contacts Google,
which necessarily sees your IP address and basic
technical data such as your browser and operating system. This happens on
every page, before you click anything.

Google is a US company; transfers are covered by its own framework, not
by any arrangement of mine. If you would rather this did not happen, the
fonts can be hosted on this site instead: it is on the list.

Google Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, the site uses Google Analytics 4,
provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. It sets cookies in your
browser (their names start with _ga) and sends Google information about your
visit: the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location, your
device and browser, and a pseudonymous identifier. I use these statistics only
to understand which pages are read and to improve the site.

The legal basis is your consent. Data may be transferred to the United States;
this is covered by Google’s own framework, not by any arrangement of mine.
Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

You can change your mind at any time with the cookie settings button available
on every page. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and withdrawing your consent
does not affect what was measured before. Your choice itself is stored in a
small cookie on your device, which is strictly necessary and is not used to
track you. It is kept for up to 12 months.

The host

Like every web server, OVH
records technical connection logs (IP address, date, pages requested) for
security and troubleshooting. Retention and handling follow the host’s
own policy.

If you write to me

When you send an e-mail or call, I keep what you sent (your address,
your name if you give it, and the content of the exchange) for as long
as needed to answer and to keep track of the conversation, and no longer
than three years after our last contact.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to people who
contact me. Nothing is sold, rented or shared with third parties. Mail is
handled by my e-mail provider,
which processes it on my behalf.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to the data I hold about you, its
correction or deletion, a restriction on how it is used, or a copy in a
portable format. You may also object to its processing, and withdraw your consent to analytics at any time.

Write to morgan@heldt-biochar.fr
and you will get an answer within one month. If the answer does not
satisfy you, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL
(cnil.fr), the French
data protection authority.

Changes

If this site ever gains a form, a newsletter or advertising, this page will
be updated before that goes live, and the date at the top will change.
